The OurSQL podcasts will eventually make it into the Blue Gecko blog. But, in the mean time, I’d like to summarize what Sheeri Cabral and I have been getting up to. As I mentioned in the OurSQL revival post we are working to bring you a podcast every week about something technical or community related. Since mid-December, we’ve recorded and published eight podcasts.

OurSQL Episode 27: To SQL or No[tto]SQL, that is the question
HandlerSocket release conversation with Patrick Galbraith as well as conversations about Strata and the MySQL Conference in April
OurSQL Episode 28: Conferential Integrity
A broad overview of upcoming conferences in 2011
OurSQL Episode 29: Subpar Subqueries
Subquery limitations, tricks and tips, and future (hoped for) enhancements.
OurSQL Episode 30: Backup Glossary (Backup Series #1)

OurSQL Episode 31: The MySQL Ecosystem
An interview with Brian Aker of Data Differential and co-chair of the 2011 MySQL Conference.
OurSQL Episode 32: Backup tools you already have [Backup series #2]
Discussion of mysqldump and mysqlhotcopy.
OurSQL Episode 33: Looking Through the Lenz (Backup Series #3, mylvmbackup)
A conversation with Lenz Grimmer of Oracle about snapshot backups and his tool mylvmbackup
Today will be episode 34 and it will be talking about the upcoming Collaborate conference in Orlando Florida. Sheeri and Matt Yonkovit have been gathering a stellar program. I’m looking forward to hearing more about it. This podcast will post on Friday.
We still have lots of ideas for the backup series, so don’t despair if we haven’t hit your favorite tool yet. As always, please send us ideas and feedback via twitter or our facebook page.
